In 1942, one of the most well-known watch companies of the world came into being in Tokyo, Japan. And today, after 86 years of its successful business, the company has gotten assets of around 5 billion and has gotten 472 workers. Now watches are not the only product, which is manufactured in this company but clocks, printers, semiconductors, macaronis devices, machine tools, optical glass material, jewellery and spectacles are also being manufactured there.
Seiko Watch Company has provided this world with a lot of spectacular and amazing technology in its products from the very first day of its launch. These products have brought away a new trend in the market and have beaten up all the competitors. Hattori, the Chief Executive Officer of the company, used to run a jewellery shop with a name K Hattor in Japan, in the year 1881.
After running the same business for a time span of almost 11 years, the business started to flourish in the year 1892, it was in this year that the assortment of watches that were being produced were given the brand name of Seikosha. These pocket watches became very famous amongst the consumers. After almost 25 years of successfully running this business in the year 1917, the corporation was legitimately registered and recognized as Seiko. This same company, at its very beginning, was known as K Hattori and Co. As times passed by, the business of this corporation kept on flourishing and in the year 1983, the corporation was re-named as Hattori Seiko Co. Soon after this change in the year 1990, the corporation was replaced once again with the name Seiko Corporation amalgamated in the midst of the prosperous business entities. The proper authorised manufacturing of the Seiko watches started in the year 1924. It was the year of 1941 when the first ever chronograph pocket sized watch was contrived. To make this launch a roaring success, the Seiko Corporation also decided to put their very first TV advertisement on air in Japan.
In year 1969, Astron was their first-ever production, known particular to quartz watch and its cost was as much as that a medium sized car. In year 1973, the company started manufacturing that different kind of watches, which proved to be the best of that time. The very first 6 digit LCD quartz watch of the world was manufactured by Seiko Corporation.
The philosophy of Seiko Corporation is to follow their prime principles and let other contenders be on the chase for them.
The very first TV watch in the history of the world was manufactured by Seiko Co. and it had a built in sound recorder too, and later on, they built a watch that had functions related to a computer. In 1987, an event of 2nd IAAF world champion was held in Rome, and Seiko Corporation served as the official timer.
This opportunity gave them a chance to air the world wide coverage and let a number of athletes pose against the official clock.
